Thumbhole cuffs can simplify our mundane tasks and movements. For instance, when we are at the car's wheel, the sleeves may go up, which is uncomfortable. Adding thumbhole cuffs to the coat sleeves will no longer leave our wrists unprotected from freeze.
Since summers in Montreal are very short, we end up wearing warm clothes for a good part of the year. In autumn, we try to protect our wrists against rain and wind. In winter, we cover them so as not to let the cold and the snow get under our sleeves.
